Sanjay Dutt Delays Bhoomi Release To Avoid Clashing With Dear Friend Aamir Khan
“I believe, after all the work being put in, it can't be reduced to a clash at the box-office,” says Sanjay Dutt, requests producers of comeback film, Bhoomi, to hold the film for another Friday
Two films clashing at the box-office is not a new phenomenon. However, every time such a scenario arises, it sends shivers down the trade’s spine since they fear a substantial division of business.
You may recall that when Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil released together in January this year, it affected both their collections. Taking a cue from that situation, Sanjay Dutt has requested the producers of his comeback film, Bhoomi, to postpone it and avoid a clash with close friend Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar.

Bhoomi was slated to hit screens on August 4 along with Aamir’s production venture that is written and directed by his former manager Advait Chauhan.
No matter how professional people act, box-office contests eventually get dirty. Reports suggest that Sanjay and Aamir go way back and by no means did he want to affect his relationship with the superstar.
Moreover, Aamir's is a small budget film, riding solely on content. A star clash could affect it.
Sanjay told a leading daily, “I know the kind of hard work and effort that goes into making a film. I believe, after all the work being put in, it can't be reduced to a clash at the box-office. Aamir is a dear friend and I wouldn't want my comeback film to be pitted against his. In this industry, we should all make an effort to help each other.”
Bhoomi, a revenge drama, revolves around the relationship between a father and daughter and will be shot in various locales in Uttar Pradesh. Besides Sanjay, the film stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman, Sharad Kelkar and TV actor Sidhant Gupta in pivotal roles.
